I had a really fun time at the Golden Centre Mall last night. As a sponsor of ID Dunedin Fashion Week, we took part in helping to provide entertaintment to Starlight Shoppers at the Golden Centre Mall. Our addition to the festivities was to run a ‘Bed and Breakfast’ themed activity, where shoppers and retailers worked in teams of three to try and make a bed to hotel standards in the quickest time possible. Once finished, they were rewarded with one of our favourite breakfast items here at Pier 24 – Bircher Muesli. As always, it was great to get out and about, answering peoples dying foodie questions and meeting some of our regular customers that I miss all to often being in the kitchen.

As a Platinum Ambassador for New Zealand Beef and Lamb, I feel that it is important to sometimes highlight a few of the more unusual cuts, the unsung beef and lamb ‘heroes’ as such. One cut that we rarely hear of these days is beef belly…however that’s not to say that its not a great option. I popped this recipe together for this evening’s CRT Card Holders event where I had a great opportunity to demonstrate to our rural community – a community that certainly know how they like their meat!
